COVID-19: Nigeria records 869 fresh cases, more deaths

Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 869 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of recorded infections in the country since February 2020 to 149,369.
This was reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on their official website.
According to the health agency, 10 coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities to 1,787.
The 869 new cases were recorded in 23 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Lagos, which is the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria, led the way with 229 new infections, followed by Rivers State with 79 fresh cases.

Meanwhile, NCDC also announced the discharge of 475 patients in Lagos, Benue and Plateau States as total recovery jumped to 125,722.
