Man generates electricity from soakaway.

* Pictures of his invention have received over 13,000 likes with thousands of engagements
* The man's skill may be one of the things the country needs for sustainable developments
* Unfortunately, just another "Made in Igboland" invention

A Nigerian man has gone viral for generating gas and electricity from a soakaway pit.

According to the Twitter handle @yunusxonline that shared the pictures, the man's name is Mr. Okwudor, from Njaba local government area of Imo state.

One of the pictures showed where he is building the soakaway, just like the one used for toilets. Other images showed how he worked a pipe that transfers the gas into an industrial burner.

This man is yet another Nigerian who has shown that there are citizens in this country who have amazing skills to use indigenous solutions and drive the developments that the nation needs.

Nigerians massively reacted to the pictures and information about this man's invention as they were shared by a Twitter handle @yunusxonline.

The pictures of his invention have already received over 13,000 likes with thousands of engagements.

Many who took to their social media has praised the man's ingenuity and expressed hope for Africa's most populous nation.

In contrast, others regrettably noted that it is just another "Made in Igboland" invention which would soon go the way of Izuogu, Iwu, and other Igbo scientists.

Meanwhile, the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo, recently decried over the neglect of Igbo inventions and scientists by the Federal Government.

He made the statement in his condolence message to Dr. Ezekiel Izuogu, Africa's foremost Indigenous vehicle inventor, pointing that the Federal Government's neglect of Igbo creativity, ingenuity, and scientists would only drag the nation backward.
