COVID-19:Nigeria records 1,479 new cases and 23 deaths

Nigeria on Thursday recorded 1,479 new cases of coronavirus infection amidst 23 deaths.

This was announced by Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in their official social media page.

The 23 death toll recorded on Thursday was the highest in a day in the country since the pandemic, and that brings the number if fatalities to 1,405.

The new recorded cases across 25 states takes number to over 105,000, with 83,830 haven been discharged from hospitals after treatment.

The 1,479 new cases were reported from Lagos (697), FCT (201), Nasarawa (80), Plateau (74), Rivers (62), Edo (46), Adamawa (43), Osun (39), Akwa Ibom (35), Delta (31), Anambra (27), Oyo (24), Kano (21), Abia (19), Enugu (19), Ogun (18), Sokoto (12), Bauchi (7), Taraba (7), Ekiti (4), Gombe (4), Imo (4), Bayelsa (2), Jigawa (2), and Zamfara (1)
